An RSL Funeral Service is not a whole funeral service.

It is merely a 5 - 10 minute part of a general funeral service.

The RSL Funeral Service entails a trained representative of

the Sale RSL & Community Club who will say a few words

about the deceased including their service record,

before inviting RSL members to come forward and

place a poppy on the coffin.   The last post and rouse is played.

The Australian Flag is then presented to the family by the Club

representative on behalf of a grateful nation.

This service is not compulsory, and will only be conducted in accordance with the families wishes.   It is often a wonderful recognition of the valued service to their country.

We at the Sale RSL & Community Club acknowledge the service undertaken by our defence force personnel and take pleasure in assisting families in any way we can during their bereavement, including assisting with RSL funerals.

Please contact the club, or welfare officer directly for any assistance.
